We've Arrived

We're here... after a LONG long flight yesterday. We thankfully just made our connecting flight in San Fransisco, as we were late getting in. We walked off one plane and directly onto the next... almost ten hours straight of flying.

Jay had reserved a shuttle to take us into the city to where we're staying. So the first couple people we met were quite interesting... the driver had just come to the island from the mainland 9 days ago... she was very friendly, maybe too friendly... we know a lot about her and since she'd only been around for 9 days... she had no idea where she was going and it took FOREVER... one of the passengers was an "illegal nurse" from florida who's been working here for a while... interesting...

We're staying in this fantastic condo on the 35th floor with a great view of diamond head (a vocano/crater) and the ocean in the distance...

We crashed hard after being awake almost 24 hours and woke up at 5am this morning. we did manage to sleep a bit longer and then spent the day wandering around, eating malasadas at this well-known bakery, plate-lunches and strolling along waikiki beach. Lots of interesting people watching for sure... the first thing i did in the ocean was cut my foot on the coral so... swimming didn't last too long today

We're now in a break between a free hula show at one of the shopping centres... very cool

The jet-lag has definitely set in, it will be an early night again i'm sure but... i'm in love... this place is fantastic (and my exclamation key doesn't work... i've tried to use it many times throughout this entry)

I forgot to bring the cable to connect our camera and show some pics, but i'll try to remember for next time..

We're thinking we're off snorkelling tomorrow... should be great... we'll be in touch
